National Museum of Civil War Medicine’s First Saturday Walking Tours

Downtown Frederick

History is hidden around every corner. Explore downtown Frederick’s storied past with our signature walking tours.

Kick off each month from May – October with our First Saturdays Signature tour series. Each month, beginning at 3:00 PM, we’ll explore a different topic, revealing different stories of the Civil War in Frederick.

But wait, there’s more! Every Saturday and Sunday from May – October, walking tours of Frederick’s hospital sites will be available at 3:00 pm. All walking tours will be on a “Pay What You Please” basis.


First Saturday Signature Tours

May 4th

Explore the divided loyalties of the citizens and soldiers of Frederick throughout the Civil War.

The Museum will be open for appointments only starting February 1, 2021
Last admittance to the galleries at 4:15 pm
Closed on New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and at 2 pm on New Year's Eve.
