Our 25th Annual Conference on Civil War Medicine was more successful than ever!

Our esteemed speakers included Shauna Devine, Ph.D, COL John Bradley Holcomb, US Army Retired, Kelly D. Mezurek, Ph.D, Michael Benevenia, Peter D’Onofrio, Ph.D, William Campbell, EdD RN, Jonathan O’Neal, MD, Hilda Koontz, MA, MCDP, John Golski, DDS, , Ric Murphy, M.Ed., and Timothy J. Stephens, MA.

Our speakers covered a variety of topics including the development of hospitals during the Civil War, Mental Health and the Civil War, Civil War dentistry, Confederate hospitals and the relationship between Civil War medicine and modern medicine.

In addition to the lectures, the conference featured a sunset surgical demonstration at the Pry House Field Hospital Museum and a tour of Antietam National Battlefield on the 155th anniversary of the battle.
