Join us on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 1:00 PM EST on Facebook Live for a virtual program hosted by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and the Gettysburg Foundation. Tune in live by visiting facebook.com/civilwarmed/live at the scheduled time.

On Tuesday March 23, at 1:00 PM EST, the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and the Gettysburg Foundation will lead a guided tour of the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital at Gettysburg. The George Spangler Farm was used as the Union 11th Corps field hospital during and after the Battle of Gettysburg. This virtual tour will highlight the experiences of the Spangler family, the medical personnel who treated the wounded at the farm, and the wounded soldiers who received treatment at the site.

This program marks the first in a series of digital educational programs in partnership between the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and the Gettysburg Foundation focusing on the medical history of Gettysburg.

Send us your questions in advance on Facebook or by email (john.lustrea@civilwarmed.org) and tune in to the Museum’s Facebook page for what is sure to be an exciting program. During this FREE program, you’ll hear about important and fascinating aspects of healthcare on the front lines and in hospitals during this divisive conflict in our nation’s history that continues to impact us today. We are here to answer your questions about Civil War medical care.
