Director of Interpretation Jake Wynn will discuss the medical career of Dr. Samuel W. Crawford and his role in the siege and battle at Fort Sumter in 1861. Based in part on Jake’s research into Dr. Crawford’s 1887 book and other works about the surgeon’s role in the pivotal events in Charleston, SC on the 160th anniversary of the bombardment.
Jake Wynn is the Director of Interpretation at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. He also writes independently at the Wynning History blog.
