On Friday October 29, beginning at 10:00 AM, Director of Education John Lustrea will highlight the stories of three wounded soldiers of the Maryland Campaign for the Museum’s next edition of the On Tour series. John will take viewers to the site of their wounding, the hospital they were sent to, and where they are buried. These stories come to us courtesy of the National Museum of Health and Medicine, which has loaned us the preserved bones of the three soldiers. Founded in 1862, the NMHM’s mission was to promote greater medical knowledge by archiving medical specimens from the Civil War. In these videos we seek to honor the memory of the three soldiers by telling their stories.
