The National Museum of Civil War Medicine (NMCWM) is now open Wednesdays thru Sundays for walk-ins and Monday thru Tuesday by appointment.

Wed-Thurs: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Fri-Sat: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Sun: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The museum will be open 7 days a week from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for reserved tours. To reserve your tour time, call 301-695-1864 or email Reservations Coordinator Alyssa Watson at alyssa.watson@civilwarmed.org. We will take reservations on a first come first served basis. The last tours of the museum are 1 hour before closing.

“We’re thrilled to be able to safely welcome people back to the museum. Obviously as a medical museum there’s so many relevant stories from history to tell and learn from in the midst of a pandemic. History offers hope – as long as you learn from it,” says Executive Director David Price.

During any tour of the NMCWM, every safety precaution recommended by the CDC and State of Maryland will be followed including requiring masks, maintaining a six-foot social distance, carefully cleaning all surfaces between tours, regularly using hand sanitizer, and more. During this time of walk-in and reserved tours, we will limit each group to your quaranteam (household, or group you’ve been quarantined with).
