Textile Weekend at Antietam National Battlefield

Coats & Quilts, Soldiers & Civilians

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine presents hands-on history program in the Dunker Church at Antietam National Battlefield. Staff and volunteers weave together stories of soldiers and civilians who fought and lived on Antietam Battlefield 150 years ago.  Join us for special presentations on quilts, dresses and clothing at 12:00 and 2:00 each day. The program features the 1873 Pry Memory Quilt – this original quilt was made and signed by friends and neighbors as a going-away gift when the Pry Family moved from the Antietam Battlefield to Tennessee.  Learn historic and modern quilting techniques.  Don’t miss this rare event.
