SawBones – Historic Downtown Frederick Pub Crawl
June 3 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT| Pay-what-you-please
SawBones makes its gallant return to Downtown Frederick with a historic pub crawl.
The National Museum of Civil War Medicine and Flying Dog Brewery are partnering on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3 PM, to bring tales from Frederick’s Civil War nightlife and from its war-time hospital wards to visitors while partaking in the city’s modern-day refreshments. The partnership is highlighted by specials on Flying Dog beers, including SawBones, a beer inspired by 19th century recipes and named for Civil War surgeons.
Join historian Jake Wynn for a guided, historic pub crawl through Downtown Frederick. This “pay what you please” tour will take visitors through the heart of the city and highlight locations that would have been “must-visits” for Civil War soldiers.
The tour will gather at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine on East Patrick Street beginning at 2:45 and the tour will leave at 3 PM. Each stop will have specials on Flying Dog brews to go with the stories of Civil War parties and surgeries.
This will be a pay-what-you-please event, with an opportunity to offer a contribution to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine at the end of the program. Early registration is free and it is required to ensure your spot.
