 ded implemented by Jonathan Letterman\, M.D.\, during the American Civil W
 ar.  The types of wounds that soldiers experienced\, battle field surgerie
 s\, use of anesthesia and the evolution of the military hospital system wi
 ll be discussed. Medical practice during the Civil War will be compared an
 d contrasted with the modern day management of battlefield casualties.</p>
 \n<p style='text-align: left\;'>Second Saturday of the month lectures seri
 es\, February–August 2013.  The program fee is included in the Museum admi
 ssion fee.  Free to Museum members. Re-admittance to the Museum the day of
